1.1    Installing Almyta Control System

Download the installation program from the Downloads menu at http://systems.almyta.com. The original program name is AlmytaControl.exe

1. Run AlmytaControl.exe.
2. By default, all necessary files are extracted into the c:\tmp\almyta folder. The folder can be changed before the extraction. After the extraction, Almyta Control System Selector starts automatically.

 

 

 

3. The Selector will check your computer for compatibility. If Microsoft Access 2000 is installed on your computer, the installation program selects version 2.90. Otherwise, version 2.80 is selected. Versions 2.90 and 2.80 are identical in functionality. Click the Start button.
4. The installation program starts the main application setup program setup.exe, which is located in either the acs280 or acs290 subfolder of the c:\tmp\Almyta folder, depending on which version was selected.

 

 

 

5. There are three choices in the main installation program. Generally, you would accept all defaults. If that is so, click the Typical button.  Compact is a smaller version and Custom lets you configure exact options.
6. A few files in the Almyta Control Installation package are widely shared across the Windows platform. Some of these files are part of the Windows operating system. It is quite possible that your computer has newer versions of such files. In that case you would see the Version Conflict box pop up for each such file during the installation.

Answer YES (or just press the <Enter> key) on all such popup boxes.
This will keep your current files and will not replace them with Almyta Control System files.

7. After installing, run the application from the Windows menu: Start/Programs/Almyta/Almyta Control System.

1.2    Reinstalling

Your data, backup history, and license will not be overwritten if you reinstall Almyta Control System after uninstalling it.  You can reinstall the System at any time.  To reinstall, run setup.exe. You can also reinstall using the Add/Remove Programs option in the Windows Control Panel.

1.3    Uninstalling

To uninstall Almyta Control System, run setup.exe and click the Remove All button.  By design the installation program will not remove your data. If you want to remove your data, manually delete from disk the folders created during installation.

1.4    Installing on a Network

To install a multi-user Almyta Control System, just install a System on each PC where you want to use it and then follow the procedure provided by the Maintenance screen in the Almyta Control System Company Selector. We assume you have your PCs networked and that there is a file server present on your network. All PCs have to be fitted with the same version of Almyta Control System. It should be either 2.80 or 2.90. Mixing the two versions will not work.

1.5          Adding an Icon to the Desktop

To add the System icon to your desktop:

 

1. Find the shortcut to Almyta Control System in Windows Start Menu/Programs/Almyta.
2. Right click on it and select Copy
3. Right click anywhere on the open desktop and select Paste.
