Chapter 17 - Add-In Manager

 

Almyta Control System gives you the capability to make your own screens and reports, but to do so you will need advanced Microsoft Access programming skills.  We reveal the source code of some add-ins on demand.  Therefore, you can create your own reports in Microsoft Access and install them into Almyta Control System.  Support for creating your add-ins is not included in Almyta’s normal support parameters.

17.1  Installing an Add-In

1.      Unzip the attached file into a temporary folder.

2.      Start Almyta Control System and select “Add-In Manager” from the “System” menu.

3.      Click the “Add New” button.

4.      Use the browser to find the unzipped file and double click it. Most add-ins come in the MDE file type. There are a few that come in the MDA type. For those few, change file type to MDA in the browser window.

5.      Click the “Close” button to exit Add-In Manager.

6.      Once installed, any particular add-in becomes available for all the companies you have created.

17.2  Uninstall an Add-In

1.      Start Almyta Control System and select “Add-In Manager” from the “System” menu.

2.      Find the add-in in the list, double click it for the x sign to disappear on the left, and close Add-In Manager.

17.3  Removing an Add-In from Your Computer

1.      Uninstall the add-in as described above, but do not close Add-In Manager.

2.      Click the “Add New” button (do not change the folder you are in), find file ALM####.MDE or .MDA, select it, and press the “Delete” key on the keyboard.

3.      Note: If the file cannot be deleted because of a sharing violation, close and restart Almyta Control System then retry.

4.      Close the file browser by clicking the “Cancel” button and close Add-In Manager.

 

All steps must be done in that exact order.
